Hello, my name is Sara Seddiqi. I am a student at the American School of Dubai, and I am interested in studying genetics and human health on a global scale. The passion I have for biology has allowed me to explore the world through research. This journey has taken me to the Netherlands, where I investigated biofilm growth and alternatives to antibiotics, and to Korea, where I delved into the process of how to kill cancer cells. These experiences have expanded my understanding of biological processes and global research approaches. I also recently completed a summer course focused on the modern applications of real-world biology, deepening my knowledge of how scientific concepts translate to impactful innovations. These diverse experiences have fueled my fascination with biology and my desire to contribute to future advancements in the field.
About my blog
Micro Bio Me
I created this blog to explore the fascinating world of gut microbiomes and to share my findings through my writing. Throughout this series, I examine how microbiomes function and their connection to diet, revealing the significant impact our food choices have on our overall health. From understanding the energy processes involved in glycolysis to interviewing experts like Dr. Usama Warshow, I aim to highlight important research and insights that help us make informed, science-backed decisions. This collection of articles showcases my dedication to communicating complex health topics effectively, all while navigating a landscape filled with diet trends.
Published Work
I am excited to share a collection of my authored articles and presentations that reflect my research and insights on various health topics. These works showcase my commitment to understanding complex medical issues and communicating them effectively. Below, you'll find a slideshow presentation from Columbia, an article discussing colorectal cancer screening strategies, and a Medium post that explores the science behind the sensation of 'pins and needles.' I hope these pieces provide valuable information and contribute to the ongoing conversation about health and wellness.
